The mattress industry has for decades been more focused on profit than comfort.
Mattresses have got deeper and deeper, not more comfortable, and all with the aim of charging more than the product is worth. With a few exceptions, mattress brands have delivered low quality at high prices rather than the other way round.
Most of the comfort from a mattress actually comes from just the top few inches, with the remainder of depth providing support.
